If you’re getting ready to prepare Lebanese food, get the garlic, olive oil and lemon juice out and put away any butter and cream you had ready. The Lebanese diet is all about the crisp, fresh flavours of herbs and garlic and much of what they eat is dictated by the seasons. Another big part of the diet is the tradition of mezze which can include anything from pickled veggies and hummus or a huge affair of hot and cold dishes like tabbouleh and stuffed grape leaves. Just make sure you save room for a sticky, sweet serving of baklava.
