Yes, Australian food is multicultural, even though it’s hard to get people to agree on what it actually is. There are the obvious foodstuffs like Vegemite, kangaroo and Tim Tams; the usual suspects like meat pies, lamingtons and those trans-Tasman appropriated pavlovas; and the unique East-West contemporary combinations that are no longer called mod-Oz. From heritage dishes passed down over generations by descendants of early settlers to those using indigenous ingredients and methods, Australian food is certainly unique, even if its culinary boundaries remain an enigma.
